Berta Kleinicke née Hartmann was BORN on July 18, 1871 in Berlin. She had at least one brother, Julius Hartmann, BORN on January 22, 1865 in Berlin. She was DEPORTED on Transport I/47 from Berlin to THERESIENSTADT on August 19, 1942. Her transport number was 4851 and she lost her life there on January 10, 1943. The necropsy did not take place until two days after her passing, and the official cause of death was recorded as “intestinal cancer.”[3] Her brother and sister-in-law, Sidonie Hartmann née Dresel, were also murdered in the course of the Shoah. The couple was DEPORTED from Berlin to THERESIENSTADT one day before Berta Kleinicke. Julius Hartmann perished in THERESIENSTADT on December 22, 1942, and his widow was deported to Auschwitz on May 16, 1944, where she was Murdered.[4][5]
